    Message from Macquarie Football re Jewellery

    We have been receiving some queries and feedback seeking clarification about jewellery being worn on the field of play on match day.

    A reminder has been issued to our registered match officials, and I urge you to please share this information with your Team Officials and Players:

    All items of jewellery must be removed before the start of the match. The use of tape to cover jewellery is not permitted.

    All items of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather bands, rubber bands, etc.) are strictly forbidden and must be removed. Using tape to cover jewellery is not acceptable. Referees are also prohibited from wearing jewellery (except for a watch or similar device for timing the match).
    However, if in the opinion of the Referee, a medical bracelet or necklace presents no danger, then it may be allowed on the condition that it can be taped or bandaged to the body to provide protection. A medical bracelet can be covered by a tight wrist guard and similarly, a medical necklace can be sufficiently padded.

    If a player is discovered to be wearing unauthorised clothing or jewellery during play, the referee must:
    1. Inform the player that the item must be removed;
    2. Order the player to leave the field of play at the next stoppage if he or she is unable or unwilling to comply;
    3. Caution the player if he or she wilfully refuses to comply or, having been told to remove the item, is discovered to be wearing the item again. If play is stopped to caution the player, an indirect free kick must be awarded to the opposing team from the position of the ball when play was stopped.

    2024 Annual General Meeting

    Life Member Mark Keeping presents Nathan Aurisch with his Life Member badge

    Thank you to the few who attended our Annual General Meeting on Mon 4 November at our major sponsor Warners Bay Hotel.

    We heard from President Nathan about a very tough year for him personally and how much he is looking forward to next season. Our Treasurer Mark presented the financials and explained the books are in a healthy position.

    We approved a new constitution. Our constitution is now the NSW Dept Fair Trading Model Constitution. This means as laws change, our constitution keeps up with them. It has also simplified our election process. We only need to elect 4 Executive positions and 3 or more General Committee. The Committee will appoint members to roles as deemed necessary.

    We elected the Committee for 2025. President: Nathan Aurisch, Vice President: Brett Urbanowicz, Secretary: Ian Cowling, Treasurer: Mark Keeping, General Committee: Craig Koosmen, Michael Cleary, Jeremy Loades, and Troy Hooker.

    We thanked Dan Carter for his dedication to the Match Day Coordinator role over recent years, and Brendan Albury for his two years as Secretary. We wish them and their families all the very best.

    We conferred Life Membership on our President Nathan Aurisch. Nathan goes far beyond his expected responsibilities in answering all emails, calls and clubhouse enquiries. We appreciate your dedication and devotion to our Club and the Community it serves. Congratulations!
