We heard from President Nathan about a very tough year for him personally and how much he is looking forward to next season. Our Treasurer Mark presented the financials and explained the books are in a healthy position. We approved a new constitution. Our constitution is now the NSW Dept Fair Trading Model Constitution. This means as laws change, our constitution keeps up with them. It has also simplified our election process. We only need to elect 4 Executive positions and 3 or more General Committee. The Committee will appoint members to roles as deemed necessary. We elected the Committee for 2025. President: Nathan Aurisch, Vice President: Brett Urbanowicz, Secretary: Ian Cowling, Treasurer: Mark Keeping, General Committee: Craig Koosmen, Michael Cleary, Jeremy Loades, and Troy Hooker. We thanked Dan Carter for his dedication to the Match Day Coordinator role over recent years, and Brendan Albury for his two years as Secretary. We wish them and their families all the very best. We conferred Life Membership on our President Nathan Aurisch. Nathan goes far beyond his expected responsibilities in answering all emails, calls and clubhouse enquiries. We appreciate your dedication and devotion to our Club and the Community it serves. Congratulations! Do you want to become a referee in 2025? Rachel Sager Match Official Appointments Officer T: 02: 49530800 E: [email protected] W: www.macquariefootball.com.au Suite 7/149 Ambleside Circuit Lakelands 2282 Warners Bay FC will hand back the NPLW Licence to Northern NSW Football at the completion of the 2024 Season. The decision comes after a thorough evaluation of the resources and infrastructure required to successfully manage a premier league program in our rapidly growing women's football landscape. The club ultimately found itself unable to meet the increasing demands and criteria associated with managing a Premier program, including volunteers and financial requirements, without impacting the Community Football program.
WBFC has been approached by several other Premier Clubs, however Northern NSW Football's preference was to keep it in the Lake Macquarie region and they have entered into discussions with Lake Macquarie City FC. Warners Bay Women have enjoyed a rich history of success. The Panthers were 2017 and 2018 NNSWF Women’s Premier League premiers and won the grand final in 2016, having been beaten in the 2017, 2018 and 2020 deciders. The club also won the NPL Women’s NNSW double in 2022 as they were crowned premiers and champions following a 4-2 victory over Newcastle Olympic in the grand final. We want to acknowledge the significant contributions of all our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters that have led to a very successful period of women's football at Warners Bay. Warners Bay FC will continue to focus on our core business which is to give those girls and boys an environment to enjoy and play football. We understand that this transition may be difficult for many, and we want to assure everyone involved that this decision was not made lightly. We are committed to supporting the players, coaches, and staff affected by this change. Lake Macquarie City FC has expressed their openness to welcoming a majority of Warners Bay FC players and staff who wish to continue competing at the premier league level. This transition presents an opportunity to further strengthen women’s football in the Lake Macquarie area and build upon the foundation laid by Warners Bay FC. Lake Macquarie City will remain subject to the same application process for JDL Boys and Girls competitions as all other clubs. Nathan Aurisch President Warners Bay Football Club |
